The company operates across power lithium batteries for new energy vehicles, energy storage solutions, and power transmission and distribution equipment, maintaining a vertical layout from raw materials to recycling. It is one of China's earliest enterprises to independently develop and commercialize new energy batteries.
The company's power lithium batteries for electric and hybrid vehicles ranked in the global top 7 and domestically in the top 4 for installations in 2024. Its energy storage solutions include systems where it holds the top position in global communication energy storage lithium battery shipments and ranks seventh globally in total energy storage lithium battery shipments.
Gotion High-tech has eight global R&D centers with a presence in locations including Hefei (headquarters), Shanghai, Cleveland, Silicon Valley, Tsukuba, Singapore, Göttingen, and Pune. In 2020, the Volkswagen Group acquired a 24% stake in the company for $1.1 billion. The firm was among the first Chinese battery companies to list on capital markets.
