Lever Foundation is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt public charity that creates a more humane and sustainable protein supply chain in Asia. Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the organization operates with a diverse team of approximately 30 professionals based primarily across Greater China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Korea, Malaysia, and Singapore, with additional staff in Europe and the United States.
The foundation focuses on two strategic program areas that deliver measurable impact across key sustainability metrics: advancing plant-based foods and upgrading animal protein sourcing. Lever works directly with food companies, hospitality groups, restaurant chains, and retailers to help them implement policies that increase plant-based offerings and eliminate the most harmful industrial farming practices from their supply chains. Since its founding, Lever has engaged with over 4,000 companies including major global brands like Marriott, Hilton, Restaurant Brands International, METRO Group, JDE Peets, and Burger King, securing commitments that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, conserve resources, and improve animal welfare across Asia's rapidly growing food sector.
