Founded in 1905, the National Audubon Society is a conservation organisation dedicated to protecting birds and their habitats across the Western Hemisphere. It pursues this mission through science-based, community-driven programmes, engaging a network of more than 450 local chapters and 23 state offices throughout the Americas.
The society employs approximately 800 staff members and is supported by over 1.9 million members and supporters. Its work spans the full breadth of the Americas, with operations and advocacy covering bird conservation and broader environmental protection across the region.
Audubon's approach is centred on community engagement, mobilising millions of people in hands-on conservation work. Its chapters and offices serve as local hubs for habitat preservation, research, and public participation in environmental stewardship.
