The Novo Nordisk Foundation is an independent Danish enterprise foundation established in 1924. It supports scientific, humanitarian and social causes, funding its activities through ownership of companies within the Novo Group. The foundation operates independently of any economic and political interests, functioning as a non-profit organisation.
With its headquarters in Hellerup, Denmark, the foundation maintains a global presence through offices in Brussels, Singapore, Delhi, Nairobi and Boston. It employs approximately 300 people across these locations.
The foundation's work spans three primary areas: health, sustainability and the life science ecosystem. Since its founding over a century ago, it has channelled resources into advancing research and addressing social challenges, with a particular emphasis on scientific progress in these sectors.
