Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Limited (OCBC) is Singapore's longest-established bank, formed in 1932 through the merger of three banks that had each been founded between 1912 and 1919. Today it ranks as the second-largest financial services group in Southeast Asia by assets, with operations spanning ASEAN and Greater China.
The bank was built to serve the Chinese diaspora in Southeast Asia, providing financial services to communities that had limited access to established banking at the time. Over more than 90 years, it has operated through wars, economic crises, and successive waves of technological change while maintaining continuous service across the region.
OCBC's operations cover retail and commercial banking, wealth management, and broader financial services across its ASEAN and Greater China footprint. Its headquarters remain in Singapore, where it has been a fixture of the financial landscape since its founding.
