Our client, a global upper middle market firm, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Analyst or Junior Associate to join its Sustainability Investment Banking team in Boston. The group advises leading companies, investors, and entrepreneurs across the sustainability ecosystem, including energy transition, climate technology, resource efficiency, environmental services, industrial decarbonization, renewable energy, and sustainable infrastructure.

The successful candidate will play an integral role in the execution of M&A transactions, private capital raises, public financings, and strategic advisory engagements while working directly with senior bankers and corporate executives.

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions, equity and debt financings, and strategic advisory assignments.
  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models, including operating models, valuation analyses, merger models, LBO analyses, and project finance models where applicable.
  • Prepare client presentations, management presentations, confidential information memoranda, board materials, and marketing documents.
  • Conduct industry and company research across sustainability-related sectors, including renewable energy, energy transition, climate software, environmental services, mobility, and industrial technology.
  • Coordinate due diligence processes and interact with clients, investors, legal counsel, and other transaction participants.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and strategic alternatives for clients and prospective clients.
  • Assist senior bankers with business development initiatives and origination efforts.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of relevant investment banking, corporate finance, transaction advisory, private equity, project finance, or valuation experience.
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation capabilities.
  • Demonstrated interest in sustainability, energy transition, climate technology, infrastructure, industrial technology, or related sectors.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced transaction environment.
  • Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record; finance, economics, engineering, or related quantitative disciplines preferred.
