The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research (WEHI) is an independent nonprofit medical research institute based in Melbourne, Victoria, with facilities in Parkville and Bundoora. Founded in 1915, the institute employs more than 1,000 researchers from across the globe and conducts long-term discovery and translational research across four main focus areas: cancer, infectious and immune diseases, developmental disorders, and healthy ageing.
