The Independent Insurance Agents of Texas (IIAT) is a professional association serving independent insurance agencies across the state of Texas. It provides member agencies with access to insurance markets, education, advocacy on their behalf, and a set of business tools intended to support day-to-day agency operations. Its technical work spans insurance technology solutions, policy analysis tools, regulatory guidance, and cyber liability.
IIAT's offerings are organised around its membership programmes. These include access to commercial and personal lines markets, as well as farm and ranch and flood insurance markets; a range of coverages written for agencies themselves, among them Errors and Omissions (E&O) insurance, cyber liability coverage, and Employment Practices Liability (EPL) insurance; and InfoCentral, a member resource covering insurance policy analysis, regulatory guidance and sample forms. The association also runs Catalyit, a technology solution supporting agency operations, alongside consulting services.
Professional development forms a further strand of its work, delivered through conferences and continuing education programmes. IIAT describes itself as a member-focused trusted resource, with an emphasis on advocacy for independent agents and on supporting successful agency operations. Its geographic coverage is the state of Texas.
