The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) is a public utility district founded in 1972, headquartered in the Greater Cleveland metropolitan area. It serves 59 suburban communities and the City of Cleveland, covering most of Cuyahoga County and portions of Summit and Lorain counties in Ohio.
NEORSD operates three major wastewater treatment plants - Easterly, Southerly, and Westerly Wastewater Treatment Centers - and manages an extensive sewer system for sewage conveyance. The district also runs industrial pre-treatment programs and oversees regional stormwater management.
A significant focus of the district is combined sewer overflow (CSO) control, including the multi-billion-dollar Project Clean Lake initiative aimed at reducing CSOs. The organization employs more than 580 people.
