Stichting BKR, or Bureau Krediet Registratie, is an independent Dutch foundation that has managed financial credit data since 1965. The organization operates from the Netherlands, maintaining critical registers that track loans, payment arrears, and debt assistance for adults.
Its core systems include the Kredietregister for loan data, the Schuldhulpregister for individuals with payment problems, and the Vroegsignaleringsregister (VPS) which provides early signals from fixed cost partners to municipalities. The foundation also offers fraud prevention tools such as the Verificatie Identificatie Systeem (VIS) and Externe Verwijzings Applicatie (EVA).
The data it manages is extensive: 517 organizations are connected to its systems, and the register contains active credit information for 7.1 million persons. With a team of approximately 115 employees, Stichting BKR works toward a financially healthy Netherlands as its stated mission.
