Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, Inc. is a not-for-profit power supplier founded in 1952. The association generates and transmits electricity to serve rural areas and member-owned cooperatives and public power districts across Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico, and Wyoming.
The organization serves more than one million consumers across a service area of nearly 200,000 square miles, supported by nearly 6,000 miles of transmission infrastructure. Its operations are built on the cooperative principle that neighbors should work together to solve common challenges.
Tri-State's founding mission centers on delivering reliable, affordable, and responsible electricity to its member systems. The association operates within the energy industry as a wholesale power provider to distribution cooperatives and public power districts in four western states.
