Strada Education Foundation is a national nonprofit headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, with an additional office in Washington, D.C. Founded in 1960 as United Student Aid Funds, it operated as Strada Education Network from 2017 before adopting its current name in 2022. Endowment-funded, the organization works to strengthen connections between postsecondary education and employment across the United States, with a particular focus on people who face the greatest barriers to finding a clear path from education to a fulfilling career.
Strada pursues its mission through five strategic focus areas:
- Clear Outcomes - clarifying what individuals can expect from education and career pathways
- Quality Coaching - supporting people in navigating education and career decisions
- Affordability - addressing the cost of postsecondary education as a barrier to opportunity
- Work-Based Learning - promoting direct connections between learning environments and the workplace
- Employer Alignment - matching education and training more closely to what employers need
The organization draws on research, grantmaking, strategic investments, and policy work as its primary tools. Its work is informed by a recognition that many individuals in the U.S. struggle to identify viable routes to meaningful employment, while employers face persistent difficulty filling roles that require specific skills. Strada operates at the intersection of education policy, workforce development, and philanthropy to address both sides of that gap.
